"We who live solo aren't limited by life's choices. Instead, we design our lives with clarity, intention, and freedom."
Hi friends,
There I was minding my own business while causally perusing the Skool platform and seaching for a community related to 'adults who choose to live alone.'
Since completing my youngest son moved out and I downsizing from a 3BR/2BA townhome to a 1BR/1BA apartment, I've been thinking a lot about my solo living journey.
I've lived partnerless off and on throught my life. But, especially in the two years since my seven-year LTR ended, living solo has become a conscious choice and no longer the byproduct of a failed relationship.
So, naturally, I wanted to be in contact with other like-minded people of all ages who've also chosen this life path, and started seraching for a community to join.
But I encountered a roadblock.
I couldn't find one. 🤷🏼♂️
I should say that I couldn't find one that addressed the topics I was insterested in discussing in such a community:
The ideal community had to be:
open to all generations (not just Millennials or Gen Z)
be positively focused on the rewards of living solo
didn't charge exorbitant membership fees
I couldn't find such a community for people like me who choose to live solo, so I created one and it's called, 'The Art of Living Solo.'
Here's how you'll know if The Art of Living Solo community is a good fit for you...
Here are the principles that guide our solo practice:
1. We Curate with Intention
We choose what belongs in our lives—habits, spaces, relationships, and commitments—so that everything aligns with who we are and who we’re becoming.
2. We Build a Strong Foundation
We honor our bodies and minds with fitness, nutrition, and wellness practices that sustain our energy and vitality. We're not necessity Imarathon runners, body builders, or ballerinas, but we take our health and exercise seriously.
3. We Create Nourishing Spaces
We design living environments that support joy, creativity, and peace of mind—spaces that feel like allies in our solo journey.
4. We Cultivate Meaningful Connections
We embrace independence without isolation, building relationships and networks that foster richness, respect, and a sense of belonging.
5. We Align with Value-Driven Work/Wealth
We align our careers, finances, and projects with what matters most—creating stability, freedom, and opportunities for growth.
6. We Pursue Lifelong Growth
We treat learning, hobbies, and personal development as essential ingredients for a fulfilling solo life. We embrace the notion that one is never too old to learn something new.
7. We Live with Purpose
We aim to contribute, create, and leave behind a legacy of meaning—shaping a life that reflects our values and inspires others.
We're just getting organized now, but the first 50 members can lock in a forever free membership.
After we reach 50 founding (free) members, a nominal monthly and annual option will be established for future members - most likely less than $10/month.
Is this for you?
Maybe, if you're...
living solo and thriving
living solo but haven't found your groove yet
living solo after a relationship ended (loss, breakup, etc.)
wanting desperately to live solo, but the time isn't right
Wheverever you find yourself on this spectrum, you'll likely find a home in the community.
Why is it free for the first 50?
The first 50 members are early adopters; they don't need a crowd to attract them. They naturally want to have a voice in how the community is built and what resources should be included. Those who join after the first 50, are most often followers and lurkers... the silent members you never hear from. They're still part of the family, but just less motivated to be vocal.
The first 50 will have my undivided attention as we build the community together. They'll also receive special treatment in ways I haven't yet determined, but have some ideas around.
